The Story
Every neighborhood has a heartbeat; a place that represents the cultural epicenter of the area at its core. In Boston’s historic North End (Little Italy), that place is the award winning Boston Barber & Tattoo Co. Over 15 years ago owner and Master Barber Robert Dello Russo had a vision. He wanted to create a unique blend of 3 different atmospheres that mesh well together. A Barber/Tattoo/Coffee shop that exudes class, dignity, and downright ruthless expert tattooing & barbering, but also incorporates the grit and heart that is ingrained in the fabric of every North Ender and Bostonian.
Since then, that vision has come to life; we are now the heart and soul of the most successful barbershop and the first tattoo shop in the neighborhood’s history. Boston Barber & Tattoo Co. has become the home to A-list Boston celebrities like Connor Mcgregor, David Pastrnak, Milan Lucic, Brad Marchand, Tory Krug, Jack Eichel, Joe Kelly, Gordon Hayward, Jakobi Meyers, Patrice Bergeron and the list goes on and on. Not only did we succeed in making this vision a reality, but we revolutionized the “neighborhood barber/tattoo shop”. Essentially we made it cool again.
In our tattoo shop, we have 9 resident artists with a variation of styles and all are experts in there own unique way. From traditional black and grey realism, to full color portraits. Our team has captured the soul of Boston's inner artists. We may not all be able to create or execute art but we feel that everyone has an inner vision. That’s where we come in, to bring that vision to life. We are in the business of selling memories, creative passion and nostalgia in the form of body art to last a lifetime. The greatest part of this experience is the trust our clients put in our artists & barbers. People come here to find their look, identity and confidence. We are experts in helping you find who you really are. Not the just person on the surface, but more importantly your inner self.
This is our story and who we are, but don't take our word for it. Find out for yourself. After every visit we guarantee you walk out feeling like the rebel you always wanted to be, a new man/woman with chin up confidence. In essence we will show you the badass you really are. Don't believe us? We are down for any challenge.

Barbershop on “the Hill”
Our Beacon Hill location has been a barbershop since 1927, where John and Robert Kennedy were weekly patrons. When Dello first acquired the barbershop, it had fallen on hard times. It was run down, and most people didn’t even know it was there. The owner was on his last leg and had been struggling to keep the shop up and running.
Dello had been looking for another spot and he had always marveled at the shop’s location next to Suffolk University and across the street from the historic State House. He took a shot and walked up to “The Hill.” After a 2-hour sit-down in the basement of the shop with the owner, they came to an agreement. Dello had a bill of sale that he typed himself and some cash in his backpack. Two signatures and a handshake later, Boston Barber Co. Beacon Hill was born.
The rest is history.
